I-70 is very important: crosses the state east-west, goes through the mountains, connects Denver with mountain resort areas and with Utah on the west and Kansas to the east.

I-76 branches off northeast from Denver toward the Nebraska border.

U.S. Highways: There are many: U.S. Route 40, US 50, US 285, US 287, US 550, etc. These often serve regions not directly served by interstates and help tie together rural areas, mountain passes, smaller towns.
